Monthly informal lunch meeting at Lamberts Restaurant & Carry-Out on Lanham-Severn Road.
Please join us on the first Thursday of each month at 11:45AM. See Lamberts Web Site for directions.
Holiday Party!
Saturday, December 12th at the Goddard Rec. Center.
Doors Open at 5:30. Dinner served at 6:45. Our speaker will be David Williams of Code 690 speaking of Lunar research.
Cost is $20 per person..
We need a head count, choice of meal (steak, Cornish Hen or Lasagna) and an indication of whether you need Special Event Badge waiting for you at the Main Gate.
We need to hear from EVERYONE who plans to attend by COB December 9 so that we can get head count and menu choice to the Rec Center by Dec 10.
For special event badges, we will need your legal name, including a middle initial and a statement that you are a US citizen. We are not planning to do background checks this year. We have enough incriminating evidence left over from last year. You will need a photo id to enter the Center so bring your id (sometimes they let this requirement slip by but don’t count on it). Send an email to Bruce.E.Thoman@nasa.gov or call 301-286-3353 to make your reservation. Email is preferred to ease record keeping.
Remember, entry to the Center is by the Greenbelt Rd, Main Gate only for persons without a badge and everyone after 6:30 PM weekdays. Entrance is via the Greenbelt Rd, Main Gate only, all day, EVERY Saturday (and Sunday too).
The next regular club meeting will be held on January 20th at 5:30PM at the club.
The club facilities are behind Gate 10, just north of the motor pool on Hubble Road (formerly Soil Conservation Road). The club is still outside the main Goddard gates, but can now be reached by non-employees only from the north. Employees can go out the new North gate, turn left, and make an immediate right into the club area. Non-employees coming from the south should turn North onto Good Luck Road from Greenbelt Road, continue onto northbound Soil Conservation Road, and make a left onto Hubble Road (the old Soil Conservation Road). The club is a left turn just before the light at the North gate.
STS-129, Atlantis, is targeted to fly to the ISS on November 12th. STS-130, Endeavor, is targeted to fly to the ISS on February 4th, 2010.
